FG Declares Monday, September 16th, 2024, as Public Holiday for Marking Mawlid Nabbiy

The Federal Government has announced that Monday, 16th September 2024, will be observed as a public holiday in honor of Eid-ul-Mawlid, commemorating the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmo Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the government, as he extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and abroad, on this significant occasion.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged the Muslim community, and Nigerians at large, to embrace the values of patience, sacrifice, and resilience.

In his message, the Minister also urged the Muslim Ummah to take advantage of the occasion to offer prayers for lasting peace and the continued progress of the nation towards equality and prosperity.
