TMC Oyo West Inaugurates Patrons, Honours Past Leaders

The Muslim Congress (TMC), Oyo West Local Government, has inaugurated its patrons, conferring certificates on eight distinguished members, with Alhaji Saheed Ishola Sodem appointed as the Grand Patron.

The investiture ceremony took place on Sunday, 28 September, at the Anwarul Islam Central Mosque, Gedu Scheme, Oyo, London, Oyo.

The newly inaugurated patrons include: Alhaji Saheed Ishola Sodem (Grand Patron), Alhaji AbdulGaniy Asimiyu Alawo, Alhaji Dhikrulah Olalekan Ojombo, Alhaji Faruq Doyin Asaye, Alhaji Kabir Oyeleye Omo Oye, Alhaji Tijani Ridwanullah, Alhaji AbdulQuodri Ayantunji Ayanyemi, and Alhaji Abdul Azeez Abdul Rasaq.

In his welcome address, the Wakil (Local Government Coordinator) of TMC Oyo West Local Government, Ustadh Abdur Razaq Olayiwola, commended the patrons for their steadfast contributions to the growth of Islam within the community.

“We appreciate your immense contribution to the development of Islam within and outside Oyo town. Your numerous meritorious deeds have convinced us that you are most deserving of this honour,” he stated.

Delivering the inaugural lecture, the Waali (State Coordinator) of Oyo State, Alhaji Engineer Daud Oladosu, described The Muslim Congress as one of the foremost trustworthy Islamic organisations in Nigeria. He emphasised that the mission and vision of TMC encompass all aspects of human life and societal advancement in line with the Qur’an and Sunnah.

He urged the patrons to support TMC projects both morally and financially, adding:
“Those who have partnered with The Muslim Congress can testify that we are not only trustworthy, but also transparent in our accountability before God and man.”

In his response, the newly inaugurated Grand Patron, Alhaji Saheed Ishola Sodem, praised TMC as more than an organisation, describing it as a reflection of the wider Islamic Ummah.

“TMC is the only organisation with a true Islamic framework for addressing societal challenges. I have known you for a long time, and I have never heard any negative reports about you. Relating with TMC is safe and a path to attaining Allah’s pleasure,” he remarked.

The occasion also featured an awards presentation to past leaders of the Oyo West Local Government chapter. Those recognised included Professor Miftaudeen Rauf, Alhaji Waliyullah Abdulkareem, Ustadh Abdurrasheed Abdurraheem Aseke, and Ustadh Abdulhakeem Adeyanju.
